Medulla Oblongata
The medulla oblongata is the part of the brain that is continuous with the spinal cord, with which it merges at theforamen magnum, a large orifice located at the base of the skull. The pons is situated rostral to the medulla, and both of these segments of the brain stem are divided from the cerebellum by the fourth ventricle.
