Overview
The KL 300 LED is an innovative fiber optic light source and an attractive alternative to conventional halogen cold light sources. It is ideal for use with routine “Greenough” type microscopes including any Olympus SZ microscope. The KL 300 LED is very small and compact and can be fitted to all Olympus stereo microscopes, thus forming a unit. The brightness of the 3W, high power LED is equivalent to a 30W halogen lamp, yet it consumes 80% less energy. Another advantage is that the color temperature remains stable when the light is dimmed and continuous electronic dimming can be effected from zero to 100%. This powerful light source offers simple operation, excellent performance and value for money.
Brightness Equivalent to 30W Halogen Light Source
The brightness of the 3W high power LED is equivalent to a 30W halogen lamp and is therefore ideal as a standard illumination system for routine microscopes. Energy consumption is 80% lower than conventional halogen light sources, which has the potential for significant cost savings and environmental benefits.
No Cooling Fan (Free of Noise and Vibration)
Because the high power LED does not require a cooling fan, noise and vibration are eliminated from the microscope frame, which allows more accurate and comfortable routine microscopy.
Continuous Electronic Dimming from Zero to 100%
The KL 300 LED series enables smooth and continuous electronic dimming from zero to 100%. This provides the user with ultimate flexibility and control to adjust the illumination to the exact level required for different specimens.
No Color Temperature Shift on Dimming
Color temperature is maintained when the LED is dimmed to any level, thus enabling consistent observation at the optimum illumination.
Wide range of suitable light guides
The optical system is optimized for coupling the light into one of many available light guides. Depending on the application different types of flexible light guides, gooseneck light guides and ring lights might fit best.
