SZX10 Stereo Microscope
Cost-Effective Performance and Accurate Image Reproduction
Ideal for routine research, failure analysis, and QC inspection, the SZX10 stereo microscope offers cost-effective performance for a range of imaging applications. It supports darkfield and polarization imaging and features a Galilean optical system, a 10:1 zoom ratio, and a numerical aperture of up to 0.2 to help minimize distortion. Experience a natural view of your sample thanks to its excellent stereoscopic depth and accurate color representation.
Flexible Stereo Microscope with a Wide Zoom Ratio
Excellent Optical Performance with a Natural View
The SZX10 is designed to provide a natural view of the sample with excellent stereoscopic depth and color representation. The DFPlan series combines high-NA resolving power and working comfort with a distortion-free optical design for exceptionally flat imaging. It includes a 2X objective lens with an NA of 0.2 for high-resolution imaging at 600 line pairs per mm.
Wide 10:1 Zoom Ratio
The SZX10 covers a magnification range of 6.3x to 63x with its 1X objective, and it offers up to 123x magnification with a 2X objective. Thanks to the versatility of the 10:1 zoom ratio, it's a good choice for life science applications that require low-magnification macro views for dissection and specimen manipulation, as well as sharp high-magnification views for close observation of cell structures.
In QC inspection, inspectors can use this wide zoom ratio to first view the entire sample, such as a circuit board, and quickly locate areas of interest. Then they can zoom in to check solder joints or microfractures on components—all with one continuous zoom.
Works with a Range of High-Performance Objectives
DFPL2X-4 / DFPL1.5X-4 / DFPL0.75X-4 / DFPL0.5X
The DFPL series of objectives accurately reproduces sample shapes with good color fidelity.
DFPLAPO1.25X-2 / DFPLAPO1X-4
Apochromatically corrected to achieve a high degree of performance. Excellent in resolving power, contrast, and image flatness with minimal distortion.

Versatile Contrast and Observation Methods
SZX2-ILLTQ / SZX2-ILLTS
With a slim 41.5 mm profile—about half the thickness of previous halogen lamp transmitted light bases—our LED transmitted light illumination bases offer a lower height for a more comfortable eyepoint and easier access to base-mounted samples during observation and operation.
- The SZX2-ILLTQ LED illumination base features a quad-position turret, enabling quick selection of cartridges and seamless switching between brightfield (standard/high/low), oblique (standard/high/low), darkfield, polarized illumination, and shutter with a simple turn.
- The SZX2-ILLTS one-position LED base transforms the SZX10 into a flexible, all-in-one microscope suited for a wide range of samples and observation tasks.
An additional benefit of LED illumination is a cooler base surface, making it more suitable for long-duration manipulation of live specimens. Compared to a conventional 30 W halogen light source, LED illumination consumes less power and offers a significantly longer service life—over 60,000 hours—helping to reduce operating costs.

Ergonomic Observation Tube and Extendable Eyepoint Adjuster
The SZX2 series offers observation tubes with an optimized convergence angle, enabling users to observe from a natural position that reduces eye fatigue during extended use.
- Our long tilting trinocular tube (SZX2-LTTR) enhances the ergonomics of the stereo microscope. Adjustable from 5 to 45 degrees, it allows users to maintain a more natural head and neck position while working.
- The eyepoint adjuster (SZX2-EEPA) provides a 120 mm range of vertical adjustment, accommodating users of different heights and preferences.
Together, these ergonomic solutions help reduce physical strain and fatigue, supporting more comfortable microscope operation.

Digital Imaging and Documentation
The SZX10 can also be equipped with a trinocular tube and a camera from our DP series for high-resolution imaging and documentation. DP series cameras offer high sensitivity for a wide range of applications, including high-sensitivity fluorescence imaging. They can be easily controlled using cellSens™ or PRECiV™ software, depending on your application.
All-in-Focus Imaging Made Simple
Reconstructing an all-in-focus image is simple in our software. Manually acquire images from the Live EFI (extended focus imaging) function to obtain fully focused views of thick, rough, or uneven samples.
- cellSens™ software: Capture sharp images of thick biological specimens, such as insects, plants, or tissue samples.
- PRECiV™ software: Acquire sharp images of wire bonding, electronic part defects, and large parts with rough surfaces.
Flexible Workflows for QC Inspection and Failure Analysis
PRECiV software offers a flexible workflow solution for QC inspection, materials analysis, and failure analysis. Pair it with the SZX10 and a digital camera to seamlessly acquire images, process them, and make 2D measurements. Advanced imaging and analysis functions include panoramic views, extended focus images, and particle analysis.
Zoom into Efficiency
To speed up QC inspection or failure analysis work, combine the SZX10 with our SZX2-ZMS zoom magnification sensor. It automatically records the zoom magnification in your PRECiV software, enabling the correct 2D geometric measurements without the need to manually enter the magnification. From imaging to reporting, all dimensions are under control. Now you can zoom in and measure the details faster, adding confidence and efficiency to your inspections.
