VS-SILA

Capture sharp images in applications where conventional widefield slide scanners lose detail.  The speckle illumination acquisition (VS-SILA) device enables high-quality images of thick samples by removing out-of-focus light through optical sectioning. The compact device easily integrates into the VS200 scanner and software and can be added to both new and existing systems.

Net Image Server (NIS) SQL

Managing the large amount of data generated by your VS200 scanner is easier than ever thanks to compatibility with our Net Image Server (NIS) SQL database and OlyVIA™ web programs. You can automatically upload your images to one or more databases, differentiate between users, and take advantage of offline visualization and annotation tools.

TruAI™ ディープラーニング

TruAI

TruAI technology, powered by deep learning, enhances image analysis accuracy and improves workflow efficiency. Traditional threshold-based methods struggle to extract shape features from samples and accurately identify target areas. With TruAI, users can train the system by selecting pancreatic islet features in a pancreas sample. The system then automatically and precisely detects only the pancreatic islets, allowing for quick and accurate measurement of their number and size.

VS200 Liquid Dispenser

Beyond its standard features, the SLIDEVIEW VS200 system can be enhanced to work with immersion media thanks to an optional liquid dispenser and high-resolution oil or silicone immersion objectives. Unlike slide scanners that do not offer high-magnification capabilities, the VS200 system's automatic oil dispenser enables you to use high-magnification, oil, or silicone oil immersion objectives for batch scanning without having to frequently stop to oil the lens.

Applications of Microscope Slide Scanners

Brain Research

Brain and neuroscience researchers often need to examine a wide range of samples—from individual cells to entire tissues or organs, such as the brain. The VS200 slide scanner delivers high-resolution scans of entire brain samples by seamlessly combining the data from multiple images into a single digital file. A large glass slide holder can accommodate larger specimens—such as monkey brains—enabling full digitization in a single scan.

Cancer and Stem Cell Research

In cancer and stem cell research, accurately evaluating tissue composition and cellular morphology is essential. This includes the ability to resolve individual cells and distinguish closely spaced or overlapping structures (localization). The VS200 system’s advanced optics provide broad chromatic aberration correction and enhanced flatness, making it easier to resolve target molecules while significantly minimizing image distortion.

Drug Discovery

In drug discovery research, gaining insight into target molecule interactions often relies on detecting the localization of multiple molecules simultaneously. High image quality is essential for acquiring accurate quantitative data from whole slide images—and this is where the VS200 slide scanner excels. By capturing positional information for multiple target molecules across a wide area in a single scan, the system enables efficient evaluation of molecular interactions.

Organoids

3D structures that mimic real organs, organoids are important tools in stem cell research. The VS-SILA optical sectioning device aids organoid research by enabling users to image most sample types, including cleared and fixed cells and tissues thicker than 100 microns, with any magnification.

Botany and Plant Research

Plant research is fundamental to obtain insights into the science behind agriculture and environmental protection. Using the VS200 scanner's batch mode, researchers can quickly screen for mutant phenotypes.

Digital Pathology

Digital pathology uses whole‑slide imaging to convert glass histology slides into high‑resolution digital files that can be viewed, shared, and analyzed on a computer. Slide scanners are the core enabling technology, rapidly capturing entire tissue sections with consistent quality and reproducibility. Together, they support remote diagnosis, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the application of AI algorithms for quantitative analysis, improving efficiency and diagnostic confidence in pathology workflows.
